Wow, I have been so busy these past two weeks that the time has flown by, and my departure date… 18th June, is almost upon us. Paddington is totally excited and is currently sat in my rucksack… mainly to make sure he doesn’t get left behind. I don’t think I’d dare to be honest …
On Monday evening I went along to Colin Davies’ Magical Words event, at Russ Steven’s House of Secrets, near the Winter Gardens. It was a great evening of poetry and prose from some very talented writers and poets.
Tuesday and Wednesday, I re-packed my bags, checked my details and booked my window seat with Air France. Wednesday … My friend and neighbour Andy came across with a going away present. He said “I know you already have one … but you don’t have one like this” … Wow .. it was a professional led rechargeable headlamp. Now, I’m a bit of a geek for gadgets, but this is something else. It has a led band that sits across my forehead and has a spot light side unit attached. It’s even activated by motion sensors . I look just like the cyborgs in Star Trek … Well not quite, I have a good imagination. I think frightened next-doors cats with it. … I can’t wait to use it in Peru.
Today I completed my online medical declaration form and printed it off, then I got the train to Preston for a PCR fit to fly test … Just waiting for those results now. All that’s left to do is email the PCR test results and the medical declaration form tomorrow … Then I’m good to go.
Just have to wait for my taxi Friday night … One and a half sleeps to go … nervous and excited all at the same time …
Hasta luego mis amigas … Peru … aqui vamos
