I have this weekend logged onto my IVHQ site and paid for my trips to Rainbow Mountain and Machu Picchu that I’m doing whilst in Cuzco. That’s another job ticked off the list.
The weather hasn’t been great and we’ve had an awful lot of rain recently, so I haven’t been able to do much walking with Paddington, that is up until today. I checked the weather and it was forecast to be sunny but cold.
I set the alarm for 6.30am and woke up to sunshine streaming through the windows. Paddington was already up and about and quite excited about his first walk into Blackpool since he arrived. I got up, made some tea and toast. Paddington had Marmalade on his toast … of course. I packed my camera in my rucksack, made sure we were both wrapped up warm, and off we went.
Paddington has said he would like to say a few words, so I will now hand over to Paddington…
Hello, I’m having a lovely time staying with Elaine who is taking me for a walk along the promenade into Blackpool. We have just set off, and I’m very glad she has made sure I have my warm coat on as it still very cold, but sunny too.
As we get closer to Blackpool, I ask Elaine what those big buildings are in front of me. She tells me that the one that looks like it goes out to sea, is The North Pier. Apparently there are three piers, North Pier, Central Pier and South Pier, and the very tall building is not a giant rocket like I thought it was, but The Blackpool Tower, and when they all open for the season, Elaine says she is going to take me on a tour around them.
My legs are getting a little tired from all this walking, so while I sit and rest, Elaine is busy taking photos of the Blackpool Tower and some photos of me sat in front of it. She then found me a nice, sunny spot, and sat me down in front of the North Pier. I believe she took quite a few of me there and said she would show them to me in the Hive cafe.
We managed to get a large table in the Hive, a rather nice cafe that makes its own delicious cakes. I had a chocolate cake with a pot of tea and as a treat, Elaine bought me a jar of Hive Marmalade and took my photo with my jar of Marmalade. I must say, I do like the photos she has taken of me … It’s just like being famous.
The cafe is getting busier now and Elaine says we should be heading home as it will be just past lunch time when we arrive.
Elaine tells me I have to write …. Fifteen weeks and six days to go …. but I’m not quite sure what she means by that.
