Hello, it’s Paddington again. Elaine is letting me write on her diary page while she gets on with some work for her university course.
The weather was rather wet last weekend so we didn’t get out on our morning walk, but I believe we are going out for a longer walk today as it is really sunny. Oh, Elaine’s calling me, my breakfast is ready. Mmm, Marmalade on toast and a cup of tea for me; muesli, yoghurt and a banana for Elaine.
It’s still quite chilly as it’s only about half past eight, so I put my warm coat and hat on as we set off to walk along the promenade. I love looking at the beach, the tide has gone out and the golden sand seems to go on for miles. Elaine pointed out the Beach Patrol office as we walked past. I said good morning as I tipped my hat to the Beach Lifeguards. Elaine says they do a great job keeping everyone safe on the beach.
We reach North Pier, and my legs are getting a little tired. Elaine puts me on top of her rucksack so I can rest but still see everything. The Pier isn’t open yet as I think we are a little early, so Elaine takes me on to the Comedy Carpet and starts to take more photos of me in front of The Blackpool Tower and some with the beach in the background. We then walk reading the jokes on the Comedy Carpet and some are very funny.
We walk on past the Lifeboat Station to Central Pier. Wow, I can see a huge fairground in the distance. She tells me it is called the Pleasure Beach and we will be going that way next weekend.
Yes … the Pier is open and there’s lots of rides for me to go on. I’m too small to go on the Waltzer, so I decide to go on the carousel and I can sit on a horse. A few people ask Elaine what we are doing and she introduces me as Paddington and tells them all about me and her blog site. I mention that I am a little thirsty and getting peckish. Elaine suggests we go and get some lunch … I was hoping she would say that.
Blackpool is really busy today and our favourite place the Hive is fully booked. Elaine finds another cafe nearby and orders pancakes with ice cream, maple syrup ( and a little Marmalade, shh don’t tell ), washed down with a pot of tea. Yum.
I have to write … Twelve weeks and Six days to go …
I ask Elaine what she means by that … She’s taking me on a holiday to Cuzco, Peru in June.
Wow, I can’t wait … How exciting …
