Monday 16th May

I’m not quite sure where the time is going as the weeks are just flying by. I’ve been busy with my Uni assignments and ticking off jobs on my Peru to do list. All my little jobs are nearly all done now … what a relief it is too.

We haven’t done much walking, but I have promised Paddington that I will take him up to the Lake District next weekend, as I will have handed in my last assignment… yay …

Paddington is quite excited about a trip to the Lake District … especially as he hasn’t been before. Hmm … I need to find a nice walk for him.

I managed to sort out a bank account/ card for me to use in an emergency whilst in Peru. Just for security really, if something happened and I had to fly home, then I can do it straight away with no fuss.

Last weekend I got my Yellow Fever vaccine and certificate, apparently it lasts a lifetime so it will cover me on any trip I make in the future. Paddington already had his done. Fortunately, It didn’t hurt either this time … unlike the last injections that I had done.

I ordered a Suunto 5 GPS watch, which arrived last week. I’m really happy with it … it has everything that I need it to have, including an alarm clock, GPS navigation/ location and email notifications, among a range of other features that I’m still finding my way around … Well, I was, Paddington seems to have taken a liking to it and has taken charge of the watch operation. It will cut down on the amount of gadgets that I would have needed to take, and that will reduce the weight of my luggage.

There’s not too much left for me to do, I’ve collected my Peruvian Soles. I’m taking some cash to Peru and I’m not relying on just cards as they aren’t accepted everywhere. I’ve also booked a taxi to the airport for us. Paddington is calling me … he’s made a pot of tea and Marmalade on toast for me … how lovely.

… Only FOUR WEEKS AND FIVE DAYS … Eek. It’s getting close now… Nerves are starting to kick in…
